"Take a step forward and... jump to the right!"

Been busy with uni lately (it's Not an excuse anymore, I'm quite screwed for it actually), but I still have been going out, just not updating this blog very much because -and all people who own blogs and type proper entries with photos will know- blog entries are so time consuming.

I actually ended up going to the Easter show. Not because my sister's wedding isn't important- it is, but because Easter show was going to finish soon and there wouldn't be another chance to go with my friends till.. well, maybe next year. Plus, my sister said there was plenty of time to get a venue, so~ =D

From Week 15b, 2010
I actually didn't get many showbags from the show. I think... just two, which tt bought for me, haha. The $10 food one (with the above: canned chicken), which had heaps of stuff inside, and a jam one, because it had interesting flavours. I actually didn't have the canned chicken, my brother got to it before I could and finished it. I think I'd rather have a fresh roast chicken though...

From Week 15b, 2010
The jams. A few are rather strange, but ever notice that the cheapest jams in the supermarket are 50% sugar? The more expensive ones, most commonly the Dalfour brand, are sweetened with concentrated grape juice instead. These ones, however strange they are, contain half a jar of sugar...

From Week 15b, 2010
Back to the beginning. We entered the show at about 11am, after church. It was a Sunday, so we were prepared for the crowd, but it was just crazy. At least at 11, most kids haven't woken up yet, so it wasn't that crowded. Sad thing was, we didn't have lunch before that, so we decided to eat something small.

From Week 15b, 2010
Wasn't too bad, the food there. Just that the burger was so salty, I might just start losing more hair (yes yes, it's a myth, too much salt causes hair loss- busted!)

From Week 15b, 2010
Went for the motor show and met up with my friends there. We got a bit side-tracked at the wood cutting competition, which we didn't end up seeing in the end =(

From Week 15b, 2010
New feature- the godzilla. I forgot what this thing was called actually, but it looks like godzilla, with the fire spitting nose.

From Week 15b, 2010
Rawr.

From Week 15b, 2010
FL noticed something strange- this godzilla is driven by a P and L plater. Unsafe? How can you even get a licence for this- who can ever be a full licenser to such a vehicle? Anyhow, it was only going at, what, 5km  per hour, so it can't do much harm.

From Week 15b, 2010
Typical godzilla, munching on cars. Except this one doesn't munch.

From Week 15b, 2010
It incinerated the car instead, which produced so much smoke, it wasn't funny. A lot of people were just leaving the arena because it smelt too much.

From Week 15b, 2010
Random exhibitions~

From Week 15b, 2010
Eggplants! I never knew eggplants can grow to be that big. The first prize winner almost looks like a purple jackfruit. Reminds me of the squash in plantvszombies.

From Week 15b, 2010
The Woolworth's Dome!

From Week 15b, 2010
As usual, presentation of the dome was outstanding.

From Week 15b, 2010
Diet!

From Week 15b, 2010
They even sold wool at the dome.

From Week 15b, 2010
I liked this one the best. Artistic =)

We went around the dome at least 3, 4 times, getting free samples of food each time. This was where we got the food showbags, and the jam one was in the connecting hall- also featuring food. The showbags at the official showbag hall was pretty pathetic ^^'' mainly kids' stuff and rubbish. By the time we got to the third round, the dome was filling up with so many people, it was crazy. Parents who bring PRAMS!! Why would you bring prams!! There was a human traffic jam because of them prams, and wheelchairs, but I don't blame wheelchairs... then there are KIDS. Argh, kids who run around your legs and when they get kicked, they go howling to their parents when it's really  not your fault- they're below eye level =_= No, I didn't make a kid cry, but I saw it happen. Stupid kids.

From Week 15b, 2010
tt's mum's calligraphy work in the middle, which won first prize =) Congrats!

From Week 15b, 2010
Some extremely creative and beautiful sugar work.

From Week 15b, 2010
How can this be second place?? It's so good =_=

From Week 15b, 2010
A painting I really liked, but don't even ask how much it cost. I'd rather just take a photo of it =P

From Week 15b, 2010
Can't go to the Easter show without some photos of the animals right? These were three geese we saw randomly walking around with a dog guiding them (apparently, one of them was pushed over by the dog while walking because she was too slow). Look at their pretty pink dresses! I thought this was the cutest thing I saw at the show that day.

From Week 15b, 2010
Random plate of pad thai when we got hungry. I was actually really looking forward to the carnival food, but when we got there, it didn't seem that enticing anymore. We did get fresh iced lemon squash though!

From Week 15b, 2010
They like walking in threes, these animals... sausage doggies! It's really cute how their legs are so short. Dogs with short legs walk funny.

Then it was to Strathfield for dinner. We hardly ever go to Strathfield- it's just not a very popular place for us to go to since it's actually quite out of the way, but since we were getting picked up from there, why not dinner first?~ =D

Went to Ca'd'or at Strathfield. Went there before ages ago with my sister and brother, but have not been for a long long time. It's quite a cosy cafe that serves an interesting blend of korean and western cuisine. We ordered:

From Week 15b, 2010
Whole ginseng chicken, which was served with plain rice.

From Week 15b, 2010
Inside was stuffed with rice anyway! It was not bad- some said it was too blend, but I think that's what it's meant to be, lightly flavoured and not too overpowering. Ginseng chicken soup is always good =D and at least you know they're using a real chicken there, not some stock cube.

From Week 15b, 2010
"THE BEST" pizza... that was really what it was called. Order "the best"~

From Week 15b, 2010
Tandori chicken pizza.

From Week 15b, 2010
Really really nice pasta, I forgot what it was called, but it had prawns, avocado and tomato in it. My favourite dish there.

From Week 15b, 2010
Can't see what's inside, but it's a ginseng tea to aid digestion afterwards =)

From Week 15b, 2010
MS' "Halichino". I thought I knew most coffee (you know, the typical cappucino, flat white, etc), but this must be a Korean thing.

Did try a new restaurant yesterday, but didn't take many photos. That'll be for next entry I guess. Time to do work =(

I'm surprised your brother tried the canned chicken, there's just something about chicken in a can.. though I suppose it can't be any worse than canned tuna or corn.
Also poor geese, was hot that day, cute though =P

they had hats to keep the sun out of their eyes =)

Hey, don't knock the canned chicken unless you tried it - they were giving out free samples in the area next to the Dome!

Ooh that's the same crane painting that I really liked too! It was called Robosaurus btw. Those eggplants look suspiciously shiny!

@seguer: wait, you tried it? How was it... =| Fresh chicken isn't exactly expensive anyway, and things in cans are almost always overpriced.. it looked rather mushy when my brother opened it, so i didn't try any.

@FL: Robosaurus is such a lame name for it though >< haha, you should try drawing the crane painting (I'll reserve a copy of it!) I think it'd be nice as a drawing rather than a painting too.
